"All along there was some invisible string, tying you to me" - Taylor Swift. If you know one thing about Allyson, then you know this story would start with a Taylor Swift quote. But this quote is all too applicable. Allyson and Matt's story is truly a story of the invisible string theory—the idea that two people are destined to be tied together at some point. The fact that their paths didn't cross sooner is the biggest mystery, but everything happens in God's perfect timing. Matt's from a small town in Northern Virginia that Allyson happened to move to for a few years. In those years, they lived only a few houses down from each other but never met. They had mutual friends, shopped at the same grocery store, and even hung out at the same pool. Unbeknownst to them, they were both applying to jobs in California with Xponential Fitness at the same time. As fate would have it, Matt got the job in Cali and set off on a cross-country move. Meanwhile, Allyson had the opportunity to make her dream of owning a Pure Barre studio come true, so back to Florida, she went. It all started with a bar(re) While most good stories start at a "bar", this one started with "barre"...Pure Barre, to be exact.Fast forward a few months after they both left Virginia, they started working together, over Zoom, from opposite coasts. It wasn't until months later that they finally met in person, at a company convention in, none other than, Las Vegas. Their mutual friend from Virginia and Allyson's "Pure Barre Owner Bestie" Jasmine helped them make the connection of their NoVa days and they all laughed over paths that never crossed. Coast to Coast After that work trip, Allyson called one of her BFFs from the Vegas airport and said "I think I just met the man I'm supposed to marry, but I don't think I'll ever see him again." Thankfully, Matt was equally as interested and fast forward a few months later, friendship turned into flirtation, flirtation turned into flights. For two years, they racked up SkyMiles, slept on red-eyes, and traveled coast to coast, between Orange County, Florida, and Orange County, California. FaceTime date nights and long weekend getaways were their normal until Matt made the move to Orlando, Florida to be with Allyson (and, let's be honest, Sammy). What happens in Vegas... ...never stays in Vegas, and for that, they're forever thankful! On November 22, 2024, Matt surprised Allyson by planning a weekend getaway back to Orange County, CA. He took her down to Laguna Beach, the scene of so many of their day dates, a place that served as the backdrop of their love story. At sunset, he got down on one knee and proposed.Allyson and Matt can't wait to celebrate their happily ever after with you all, exactly one year after their sunset proposal, on November 22, 2025.
